Marrakech Easter break for 3 days.For a copy_opt

Its a stimulating and inspiring city.Perfect for the upcoming Easter holidays for 3 days. This city is always wrapped in a halo of exoticism. In 3 or 4 days its perfect to disconnect and recharge your batteries here in this city. However … it is very close it takes less than 2 hours. Here in this post I will tell you what to do in your  3 days, get the most of it. I went 2 times to Marrakech, as is very near to Spain. Ive been to Casablanca, Tánger, and Issaouira and my favorite by far  is Marrakech. I went recently for 3 days with a  good friend . Once there, I have the chance to practice my french . There are different airlines who fly directly to this city . The first time I went was with Air Maroc the second time this year with Ryan Air.Marrakech Easter break for 3 days.

If you have a tight budget and flexibility, this are the airlines you must book in time with  Skyscanner:  Ryan Air, Vueling, Iberia.

Where  do you stay in Marrakech:

In a Riad?? its local, its the real thing. The riad are hotels with gardens and patios and are hidden, you discover them once you enter inside. I recommend you to book with Booking or Laterooms within time. Theres more or less like 500 riads in Marrakech.

I stayed in RIAD RODAMON: it´s in the centre, it´s new and its huge its has a lovely service , his director is called Jordi, who I manage to ask him a loooot of useful questions about Marrakech, he speaks english, french and arab and he gives good advise he is the young director of this Riad.

This riad is clean, nice deco, lovely, friendly and  helpful staff who speaks spanish, english and french. They have a lovely patio where you can eat lunch, dinner or apero and the food is also really good. Well I do love morrocan food…..mmmmmm. At this riad theres good vibes, young international people, a billar , you meet people who travel solo or with friends. In the riad, I met a nice girl from San Francisco and 2 girls from Germany.

First day: Get lost at the Medina and  the Zoco but only in daylight, practice your negotiation skills and bargain, yes is not rude here, is the normal thing  to do in the zoco (not in the shops please),  and afterwards when you have all your shopping done  head to square´´ Yamaa el Fna´´ and just open your eyes and feel the energy and the lively atmosphere. I will recommend you to take a juice in their stalls with fresh fruit after a hot day.

The zoco is where all the fun is: The zoco is a very busy place for all types of sales of varied items. All the stalls are held outdoors. The different and various stalls where you are going to see all type of things to bring home.

Let yourself be carried away through the streets of the Zoco or Gran Bazar, you will always return to the same place, to Jemaa el-Fna Square, yes, full of gifts. ( A good advise when you go to Marrakech go with an empty luggage trust me this one is a good useful advise, in your last day you will thank me :))))) For fashion  you can go  to the area of Mohamed V Avenue where all the fashion stores are, which leads to the Plaza  Le Liberté and head to the new area of the square  Novembre 18. It is the neighborhood of the brand stores, the fast-food restaurants and the hipster, modern Moroccan Fashion. It’s a good plan if you’re tired of the zoco.

Second day: In Marrakech: Go to the Majorelle garden and the YSL museum. The Majorelle Jardin, used to be of the painter Jacques Majorelle famous for introducing the blue colour Majorelle.   YSL love this small oasis and  bought it to the painter in 1980  with his lover Pierre Berger.

I have always admire YSL, for me is one of my favorite  designers apart from  Balenciaga,  Chanel, Armani, Christian Dior, and Givenchy.

For people who  love beautiful things and fashion, for trendsetters, etc they will love  Majorelle garden, the museum is around the corner not very far from the garden. Even the museum has an interesting architecture.

Third day: After exploring all you need to do the last day is to relax mind and body. So I totally recommend you to go to a Hamman but don´t just go to any, get advise from someone, for instance I ask in the hotel and the director recommend me this one: Assal Hamman Salon & Spa.

I took the 1 hour and a half distress. There are different services It was real bliss….even my friend repeat and when to the same hamman the next day.

The distress 1 hour and a half consisted: First they  give you some tea and sweets pastries, exfoliate your  entire skin with a horsehair glove with a black product made of to get rid of all the dead cells. with hot water, etc etc

Once dried later they give you a nice and long massage to all your body. Really worth it.

A litte bit of history

Marrakech used to be the map of the bohème people of the 70´s where all the artists and designers and now this year a new bunch of talent people are taking the lead to settle here.

Where you defo need to go

The YSL museum is in the same designer street, I recommend you to go by taxi from Jamma El Fna. A taxi is 30 dirhams to anywhere, you have to bargain with the taxi drivers, never go more than this. The top is 30 dirhams

28378709_10155615858864139_8237160388726613786_n_opt Here in the new YSL museum Marrakech.

The YSL, Its new and is well worth it a visit, if you to the Majorelle jardin its included in the pack. In the pack ticket you have the jardin majorelle, the bereber exhibition, the YSL museum all in a pack. Worth it.

You have plates, glasses, shampoos , ashtrays, etc. stuff for home or for gifts.

You are lucky near this shop there is a place where the food is super good is called NOMA: and for me has the best terrace in ALL Marrakech, music, cool terrace, etc etc the deco is stylish. It has 2 floors where you can eat or dine and the  3 rd floor the terrace which is nice to stay and be there allllll day long . Its better to get a reservation as is always full or you can do as my friend and me did, wait in the bar tools in the terrace with a mint tea in front and chat for 27 min until you get a table. After all you are in Morroco take it easy and relax.

The interior deco of Nomad            28279634_10155615860339139_5636011124373611287_n_opt 28276793_10155615859459139_4421196487927312583_n_opt 28423426_10155615861174139_6933862474735157248_n_opt The terrace of Nomad

FOOD: What to eat

Don´t leave Marrakech without eating a Tagine. Its compossed of vegetables, chicken , with some cous cous or not. etc lovely yummy. Is named after the earthenware pot in which it is cooked

They recommend me to eat Pastela: A pastry like an empanadilla with was super delicious. An amazing mix of sweet and savory with the aroma of cinnamon in a traditional Moroccan dish.

For dessert or for breakfast . Rayeb: A homemade mild Yoghourt have it with honey and dry fruits or some mint leaves. I used to have for breakfast this rayeb and some morrocan lights crepes  called Baghrir really good and light.
